Yurij Yarin - the artist from Moscow,
was born in 1958. In 1980 he graduated from the Moscow Textile university
and since1981 is a member of the Union of Moscow artists.
He is engaged in painting, graphics, sculpture, mosaic, photography
and batik. His works are in private collections of Russia, USA,
France, Spain, Finland and Sweden.
Since 1986 he works much as a mosaicist. He created mosaic icons
for Pjuhtitskij convent (Estonia), Zion cathedral in Tbilisi (Georgia)
(in cooperation with A.Kornouhov), the church of St. Thomas and
the church of Transfiguration in Balashiha town near Moscow, the
church of St. Nicolas in Zelenograd near Moscow, the cathedral
in Kuopio town (Finland), and also for private persons.
In 1998 Yurij Yarin organized the annual courses on mosaic art
in the Lay Academy in the New Valamo monastery in Finland. In
2002 on the base of this courses there was found the Society of
mosaicists of the Petros Sosaki in Kuopio, where he continues
to teach.
